Here’s What You Can Really See from Space (Hint: It’s Not the Great Wall of China)

923,000 Facebook Shares

You’ve likely heard that the only man-made object you can see from space is the Great Wall of China.

A friend of mine likes to point out to new people he meets that it’s a common misconception, and not actually true.

Google – visa NASA – says you can’t see it from the moon, so it’s a pretty popular myth that has traveled around the globe (just not higher than it).

Another popular myth among those serious about what food they put into their bodies is that gluten is something to be avoided.

I’m not going to get into the argument of whether that’s true or not (hint: I have no idea) but RealFarmacy.com did, and picked up over 900,000 Facebook likes in the process.

Another example comes from BornFitness, who state that breakfast is not the most important meal of the day (another one I’m sure you’ve all heard).

As humans, we love to learn and acquire knowledge.

But we also absolutely hate to hold incorrect knowledge.

You might have a lot of stubborn friends who make you disagree with that statement, but if I challenged a very popular belief you currently have, you would at least seek out more information, even if you don’t end up changing your mind.

If you’re really active in (and passionate about) your field, I’m sure there’s some myth you constantly hear that you need to put right once and for all?

If you can’t think of anything straight away, this Reddit thread is a good source of inspiration for possible topics.
